Easter

Our Easter service was "off da chain" (that means it was really cool). The "stage" was decorated with ALOT of flowers and they smelled soooo good. We did some good music, then pastor Mike spoke for a bit, then we had "spontaneous" baptisms: instead of a line-up of people who were prepared to be baptized Mike invited anyone who wanted to be baptized to just come on up! I had the privilege of playing guitar that morning and we played a song as people got baptized, so I was about 10 feet from the action. It was such an atmosphere of JOY and EXCITEMENT. Then we closed with an upbeat song and people were just WIRED. It. was. AWESOME.

OK, So Here Is Another Reason I Don't Post Very Often

I lay things out the way I want them then when I hit "publish" it is not laid out the way I intended. So lemme try this again.

OK. So I'm a bad blogger. For some reason I just do not take the time to do it. I'll chalk it up yo laziness. Since a bunch (3) people have been clamouring (actually they have asked if they should unbookmark my blog)  for me to post something here goes:
"The 'stache and goatee"

" The Biker"

If I had grown the ends of the mustache and curly-cued them up this would have been "The Musketeer"

"The Soul Patch" (this pic was taken today and what I will prolly stick with for awhile)

Fun With Facial Hair February!

As always, February (I still think it should be spelled F-e-b-u-a-r-y) is "Fun With Facial Hair" month. I do not think you will find this on any calendar - it's just something I've done the past few winters. I actually got a little jump on it this year. And I'm growing my hair a little longer too. I think it does help in the cold weather! I have a progression for this facial hair thing, so I will post new pictures as FFHF continues. But for now here's the first pic: It's about a week and a half worth of growth

New Car and New Truck

I have been needing a new vehicle for quite some time. I've been putting it off because I did not want to go into more debt. The final straw that led to me getting a new truck was that not only was my old s-10 a '92 but the body was rusting out exponentially, the A/C went out like 7 years ago (shortly after I bought it), and recently the power window motors went out (the passenger-side window is stuck down about an inch) and the heater core went bad (for the third time in 7 years!!!). Now, I can do without the A/C and I can even put up with the rusty body but no heat when it's 5 degrees is just plain brutal. That truck still runs great and, even though it's only a two-wheel drive, handles well in the snow - but it was just TIME for a new(er) vehicle. So here it is: a 2 wheel-drive,2003 s-10:
The thing has 20" bling bling rims on it and the tires have about zero traction in the snow. I'm hoping to sell the rims in order to defray the cost of the truck a bit.
Heather is about to get her license and runs track and cross-country and is planning on  getting a summer job so I asked the guy at the used car place what kind of deal he could give      me if I bought 2 vehicles from him! He gave me what I thot was a fairly good deal so I went for  it. Heather's car is a 2004 Hyundai Elantra (she named it "Adelle") with 191,000 miles on it!!
I decided that for the price I was willing to take a chance on it

I hope Obama appreciates what I am doing for the economy...

Random Thots

When I started this blog I guess I thought I would have more to say. As I thought about why I don't blog more often I decided that it is because much of what I have to say is negative... complaining. I don't want to be that guy. Anyway, here are some random things:
-Saw the movie "Seven Pounds". Interesting.
-I've heard "Valkyrie" is pretty good. I will go see it!
-Checked out the HBO miniseries "John Adams" from the libary. Good stuff!!!
-Read Beyond Belief - the Josh Hamilton autobiography. Couldn't put it down!
-Kung Fu Panda is funny. Perfect role for Jack Black.
-I've been able to play guitar on worship team like 8 out of the last 9 weeks or somethin' like
that. I'm grateful for the opportunity to serve in this way:) I love music and love my fellow
worship-teamers
-Sad the Colts are done for the season but I still think they are one of the classiest teams in
professional sports. Thay are also one of the best teams in the history of the NFL - 6 straight
12 win seasons! And Tony Dungy is one of the best coaches ever - he is a winner on and off
the field.
-Psych (which my good bud Mike Thompson has lent to me) is a funny show.
-I'm looking forward to the Florida-Oklahoma game tomorrow night (1-8)
-I have spent the last few weeks watching the "inside looks", deleted scenes, and commentaries
from every season of Seinfeld. Man, I had forgotten how good that show is!
-Adam has been getting into The King of Queens. I have always thought this was an under-
rated show.
-New Years Eve we played SingStar and American Idol (both karaoke -type games) at
Hildenbrand's house. THAT was a blast.
-After having 17 days off I went back to work tuesday (1-6). I suppose this is a good thing.
-Got to "connect" with some friends during my break. This is truly one of my favorite things to
do!!!
-I got three Stevie Ray Vaughan DVDs for Cristmas. Man, could that dude wail!!!
-My family made a Colts blanket for me for Christmas. I'll post a picture of it soon.
-That is all
