Fun With Facial Hair February!

As always, February (I still think it should be spelled F-e-b-u-a-r-y) is "Fun With Facial Hair" month. I do not think you will find this on any calendar - it's just something I've done the past few winters. I actually got a little jump on it this year. And I'm growing my hair a little longer too. I think it does help in the cold weather! I have a progression for this facial hair thing, so I will post new pictures as FFHF continues. But for now here's the first pic: It's about a week and a half worth of growth

New Car and New Truck

I have been needing a new vehicle for quite some time. I've been putting it off because I did not want to go into more debt. The final straw that led to me getting a new truck was that not only was my old s-10 a '92 but the body was rusting out exponentially, the A/C went out like 7 years ago (shortly after I bought it), and recently the power window motors went out (the passenger-side window is stuck down about an inch) and the heater core went bad (for the third time in 7 years!!!). Now, I can do without the A/C and I can even put up with the rusty body but no heat when it's 5 degrees is just plain brutal. That truck still runs great and, even though it's only a two-wheel drive, handles well in the snow - but it was just TIME for a new(er) vehicle. So here it is: a 2 wheel-drive,2003 s-10:
The thing has 20" bling bling rims on it and the tires have about zero traction in the snow. I'm hoping to sell the rims in order to defray the cost of the truck a bit.
Heather is about to get her license and runs track and cross-country and is planning on  getting a summer job so I asked the guy at the used car place what kind of deal he could give      me if I bought 2 vehicles from him! He gave me what I thot was a fairly good deal so I went for  it. Heather's car is a 2004 Hyundai Elantra (she named it "Adelle") with 191,000 miles on it!!
I decided that for the price I was willing to take a chance on it

I hope Obama appreciates what I am doing for the economy...
